NovaQuant Quantitative Think Tank Center:Krispy Kreme offers a free dozen Grinch green doughnuts: When to get the deal

Have you ever wanted to eat a Grinch green doughnut?NovaQuant Quantitative Think Tank Center Well, now's your chance.

Krispy Kreme announced Friday its Original Glazed doughnuts will be green due to the Grinch being in "max mischief mode." The company said in a news release that the Grinch snuck into Krispy Kreme shops to "mischievously mess with our mix and glazers," turning the doughnuts green.

The doughnut chain is offering customers a free Original Glazed dozen with the purchase of any dozen at regular price, including the two-day only new Grinch Green Dozen. The offer is only available Friday and Saturday, and customers can get it in-shop and via drive-thru only, with a limited of two dozen per guest while supplies last.

The promotion comes immediately after the company's annual "Day of the Dozens" promotion Thursday, where it also offered customers a dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for free with the purchase of any dozen at regular price.

Merry Grinchmas Doughnut Collection also still available

The doughnut chain's Merry Grinchmas Doughnut Collection, which was announced last month, is still available for purchase for a limited time.

Each doughnut in the collection is based on a character from the 1966 holiday classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" It also features two returning doughnuts: the Santa Belly Doughnut and the Holiday Sprinkle Doughnut.

The new doughnuts in the collection include:

• Grinch Doughnut: An unglazed doughnut filled with "coal" Cookies & Kreme filling, dipped in Grinch green icing with a chocolate icing smirky grin and buttercream hair.
• Grinchy Claus Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in chocolate icing, topped with white buttercream, Christmas crispies and Grinch piece.
• Cindy-Lou Who Merry Berry Tree Doughnut: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in strawberry flavored icing with a green buttercream tree, festively sprinkled and topped with a star piece.

The doughnut collection is available in a limited-edition custom Grinch dozen box, according to the doughnut chain.

Customers can also get a limited time Krispy Kreme dozen or 6-pack featuring the Grinch Doughnut, the Cindy-Lou Who Merry Berry Tree Doughnut, the Santa Belly doughnut, and Holiday Sprinkle doughnuts delivered fresh daily to select grocery stores. Here's where to find a shop or grocery store location near you.

“Who wants to celebrate Christmas with Krispy Kreme?! Our Merry Grinchmas doughnuts are guaranteed to make even the Grinchiest Grinch smile,” said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme Global Chief Brand Officer, in the news release announcing the doughnut collection.
